Chapter 129 The Plan Is Afoot

The dinosaurs took the bait.

They didn\'t care that they were leaving their territory. They seemed to abandon all reason just to find whatever was the source of this smell.

And which parent wouldn\'t after losing their children? Those dinosaurs were even going to attack a monster that they knew they wouldn\'t be able to beat just because they would think that it killed their kids.

And considering that Jake had cleared the loot of the two dinosaurs who had fought each other, maybe these father dinosaurs would even think that the Gojira was the killer of their mate.

But all of that was just speculation. For now, Jake was just going to hope that everything would go their way. If it didn\'t, then he was going to have to rush in and try to grab the computer and maybe hope that he wouldn\'t drop it when he died.

It took a little time for the dinosaurs to get around the mountain. While one of the dinosaurs was going around the mountain through the left, the other was going around the right.

Since they were side by side in territories, if both the dinosaurs were to meet each other, there would be a fight here, without a doubt.

Jake didn\'t want to see this fight take place. He would rather leave now with no chance of dropping that epic class crystal.

He needed that crystal. Sure, it was something that he didn\'t expect to have, but now that he had it in his hands, losing it would be a loss that would be difficult to justify.

An hour passed by, and the dinosaur was slowing down. It came to a stop, and looked around. The meat continued forward, and the more meat that the dinosaur found, it was getting more and more irritated.

But once it had run for over an hour, it was beginning to lose its patience. Maybe someone was just leading it to a trap?

Jake was worried now. It was going to start thinking instead of functioning over hatred.

He grit his teeth and ran forward, coming into the dinosaur\'s view. He waved around a slab of meat, the source of the smell. The dinosaur looked at it, and it seemed to recognize this smell that came from this pest.

Leaving the smell of the meat, it sensed that it knew this pest.

Roar!

Jake felt his blood freeze two times over.

[You have been frozen by fear.]

"You have to be kidding. I was hit by a debuff now?" He cursed. But he could feel movement resume to his body a second later, and he used that time to run back.

Blast!

The ground in front of him blasted into smithereens. The dinosaur was pissed alright. It was running toward him, the pest that was clearly the reason that all of this was happening.

"Thank god we only have a few minutes to go before we reach the site." Jake said as he started running.

[Change in plans. I am stepping in the run. The dinosaur wasn\'t biting, so I had to incite it. I am going to be getting there as fast as possible. Lead the dinosaur there as well.] he texted.

Ping!

The response was instant.

[Fine. I will get in front of it as well.]

Jake didn\'t have time to look at his chats anymore. The last time he did this, the mother dinosaur was slower than him. It was big and slow, and Jake had put all of his spare stats into agility.

But now, things were a bit different. This dinosaur seemed to be on steroids. It was easily able to catch up to Jake, and maybe it was even a little faster! It could catch up to Jake in a minute or two.

Jake bit his lips as he opened his stat window and put ten free attribute points that he had remaining into agility. There was nothing else that he could do.

The moment he did that, he felt his feet lightening. All of sudden, the dinosaur wasn\'t on his tail anymore, and it was falling behind a little.

Jake adjusted his speed, barely faster than the dinosaur, and sometimes slower, so that the dinosaur thought that it had a chance.

And the roars that it gave in the middle made Jake\'s face twist and turn in all sorts of directions. He was exerting his body already. It had been a long time before he had a little rest, in the game or out, and now he was trying to use his mind to its extent.

He felt a splitting headache as he tried to keep his speed constant. But he could see his destination in view.

It was currently morning. The sun had just gone up. The bright rays were shining on the cliff that defined the Gojira\'s territory. And right next to it, was the Gojira itself, awake.

Standing at a staggering hundred meters, it was as tall as the feet. Jake missed it in the thick trees, but now he could see it.

And the Gojira was looking at his direction as well. But it was not looking at what was a mere fly in its opinion. After all, Jake was nothing in the Gojira\'s eyes.

But the dinosaur, it was something significant. And Jake could understand that.

The moment that the dinosaur behind Jake looked at the Gojira though, Jake noticed that it stopped moving.

Jake took this opportunity to suddenly move to the bushes. All the meat in his hands disappeared, falling into his inventory.

He rubbed his hands on the soil around, trying to mask the smell, and he started running. There was a pile of meat around the Gojira\'s territory alright, already put there by Jake.

And the Gojira never looked at it because it couldn\'t care for something so small and insignificant.

But the dinosaur did. Dinosaur number one looked around as it tried to lock onto its prey\'s smell, as it was the source of its anger.

Roar!

At that moment, a chilling roar that made even this huge monster look like a mere child almost made Jake trip with shock.

"Yeah. I am going to need to work fast if Myriad Arrows doesn\'t come here fast enough."
