The Guardians' Throne - The First Magic Swordsman

Chapter 227 - Team Work

America soon realized what those two were thinking, and as much as she wanted to help, she couldn\'t. Long-ranged attacks won\'t help all that much on what they were planning. The only thing that Ameria and the others could do right now was hang in there while Zaos and Drannor try to take over those twenty ships by themselves.

"Captain, give us the order to take over those ships," Zaos said to Erean. "In the end, I don\'t want to do that without your consent."

Erean face palmed… did he really had fallen so low that he had to entrust the entire fate of the allied fleet to two kids? They weren\'t ordinary kids, sure, but that didn\'t improve things all that much. Despite that, deep down, Erean knew that they could pull it off.

"All right… just don\'t take too long, that is an order," Erean said.

"Hahaha, that was the plan all along," Zaos said. "Hey, mister smuggler. If you manage to keep everyone safe for a couple of minutes, I will give half of those to you."

"Hey… you can\'t promise that to…" Orleand said, but then Noemi stopped him.

Ships of that caliber were too much on the hands of smugglers. Still, the captain of the ship barely could believe that Zaos really meant that he would take the ships and would give them ten of those ships. Regardless, he would do his best to survive, so why not try a bit harder to gain those wonder battleships?

"All right, kid," The smuggler captain said. "We have a deal."

Now that he thought about it, the smuggler captain really looked like Distri, and it was actually Distri who contacted him. Were they related in some way? Regardless, that was a question for later.

Zaos never tried to enhance other people\'s bodies with magic, but he couldn\'t find a single reason why it shouldn\'t work. So, after they climbed the mast of the ship and the enemy fleet approached, he enhanced Drannor\'s legs with earth and wind magic.

"It will only last for about twenty seconds, so try to be quick," Zaos said. "You will get the captains of the ships and then I will attack the crew in order to make sure that they won\'t try to recover the control over them."

"I get it, I am faster, after all," Drannor said.

While that was true, it was annoying for Zaos to hear it anyway. Regardless, when the ships were about to hit theirs, both of them jumped with all their might, and the captain smuggler moved the ship to the side to avoid some damage. Somehow with that jump alone, Zaos and Drannor practically flew for thirty meters. It was probably because of the height of the master. Regardless, soon after the enemy ships hit their own, they landed.

Drannor was the first to recover the landing, and despite the momentum, he got up so early and even managed to aim a crossbow at the captain of the ship and put through bolts on his head… Zaos frowned since Drannor wasn\'t supposed to be that good with crossbows. Regardless, he had other problems since the entire crew was looking at him.

Using the magic effects, Zaos dashed toward the enemies and cut four of them down with a single slash of his sword. Meanwhile, Drannor jumped to the next ship, and he was fast as an arrow. He was trying so hard that the places he stepped, he left holes thanks to the magic reinforcement.

Once again, Zaos looked for another group of enemies to attack, and this time, he only found three within reach of a single strike. The enemies tried to block his attacks with their swords, but Zaos annihilated them. Once Zaos tried to look for the next targets, he only saw most of them jumping from the ship. They would rather drown than being cut down like that.

Zaos moved toward the next ship, and he found a group heading to the ship\'s helm, but before they could touch it, Zaos threw his sword at them, killing two with the strike and knocking three others. He soon recovered his weapon and then looked for the enemies. They sure looked shocked since they lost their captain to a boy who apparently could fly and now another weirdo just appeared. Once again, the enemies tried to get on his way, but they only tried two times with his speed and brute strength. After losing half of their crew in three strikes, the survivors decided to abandon the ship as well.

"You really can\'t expect much from mercenaries that haven\'t seen a real battle in years…" Zaos said and then sighed.

Regardless, Zaos had to work fast before the ships can turn and then try to attack the ship where his friends were. Fortunately, it seemed that Drannor was working well. He got used to the extra strength and speed the magic granted since he was already in the fifth ship.

"I guess it will take a while for the other ships notice that they are being attacked like this," Zaos thought as he jumped toward the third ship.

To make the job easier, Zaos began to use his crossbow. Still, since he didn\'t have any extra ammo aside from the one in the equipped ammo box, he only used it on those that had bows. That helped him quite a lot as the enemies found more reason to abandon the ship. However, Zaos noticed that the fleet\'s formation broke when he was on the seventh ship. It was hard to say for sure, but it seemed that Drannor was on the twelfth when the enemies finally noticed that something weird was going on.

"All right… now we just have to find a way to bring everyone to those ships that we can\'t control at all," Zaos said. "It is a pity that I always forget the small details."

In the end, Zaos and Drannor worked together to slow down the ships, and then the allies who had lost their ships joined them and then helped on maneuvering and recovering the members of the ships that had fallen on the ocean.
